What We Do Not Collect
- We do not have user accounts, so we hold no profiles, passwords or saved preferences about you.
- We never ask for your Instagram or TikTok login.
- We do not keep a record of the usernames, links or hashtags you search for.
How Searches Work
When you search, the username, link or hashtag you typed is sent from your browser to our server. Our server sends it to a third-party data service, which fetches the matching public content from Instagram or TikTok and returns it to us. We then show it to you.
To keep the tools fast, the public results are stored in a temporary cache on our server for a short time (normally 10 to 60 minutes, and never more than 24 hours). Cache entries are named with a one-way code, contain only the public content itself, and are not linked to you, your IP address or your device.
To stop abuse, our server counts searches per connection for one minute at a time. It stores only a one-way code made from your IP address, not the address itself, and the counts are deleted within minutes. We also keep anonymous technical statistics (which tool was used, whether it worked, how long it took), without usernames, links or IP addresses.
Official Previews From Instagram and TikTok
When our data services are busy, a tool may show the official public preview (embed) that Instagram or TikTok provides for websites, instead of only an error message. That preview is loaded by your browser directly from instagram.com or tiktok.com, so those companies receive your IP address and browser details, as they do on any website with an embed. We load it without cookies and without telling them which page you came from, it shows public content only, and it never adds you to a story viewer list. Your use of the preview is covered by Instagram's and TikTok's own privacy policies.
Data Services We Use
To read public Instagram and TikTok content, we use third-party data providers. They receive the username, link or hashtag needed to answer a search, and the IP address of our server, never yours. They do not receive your name, email or device details from us.
Information Stored on Your Device
Our tools remember your last few searches in your own browser (local storage) so you can repeat them with one tap. This list never leaves your device, and you can delete it with the Clear button under the search box or by clearing your browser data.
Contact Messages
If you send us a message, we store your name, email address, topic, message, the page you sent it from, your IP address and browser type, so we can reply and protect the form from spam. Messages are also emailed to us. We keep them only as long as needed to deal with your request, and you can ask us to delete your message at any time.
Cookies, Analytics and Advertising
ThePicuki does not set its own cookies for visitors. We may use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are used. Analytics receives page visits and the name of the tool used, but we configure it so that the usernames and links you search for are not sent.
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, a consent message asks for your choice before personalised ads are shown.
Server Logs
Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic request logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a limited time by the host and are not used to identify visitors.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. Because we hold so little, most requests will relate to contact messages. Email picukithe@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
ThePicuki is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
